Welcome to breakfast by the sea

Hello, I'm Heather, a  Food and Lifestyle Photographer from Brighton in the UK, and this is my foodie photography blog.

A little bit about me
I love long walks in the countryside, good coffee, picnics, symmetry, the smell of old books and daydreaming. I have a very silly sense of humour, and I'm always in search of adventure.

I can be quite messy, I can't cartwheel, I've never really mastered the art of air-kissing, and I probably eat far too much cake.

I'm chuffed to bits that my food photography has featured in:
The Telegraph
BBC Good Food Magazine
The Daily Mail
Stylist magazine
Jellied Eel Magazine
The Foodie Bugle
Crumbs Magazine
Fiona Beckett's blog (Food and wine columnist for the Guardian)

About this blog

I like sharing recipes, photos, restaurant/cafe/pub recommendations and posts about life in general. I'm based in Brighton, UK, and I love my city and surrounding countryside, so post a fair bit about that too!

I try to buy the best ingredients I can and strive to make simple, healthy, balanced meals. Of course, life would be no fun at all without the odd treat too (curse my sweet tooth!).

The majority of the recipes I feature are made using seasonal ingredients, and as a rule I do try to buy as much local seasonal food as I can. Read more about seasonal eating here.

I'm often asked how my blog got it's name. I could pretend I have some elaborate answer, but the honest reason is that breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and I live by the seaside in Brighton (UK). So there you go!

A bit about PR approaches
Please feel free to contact me if you've got an opportunity you think I'd be interested in. Please don't just email me your press releases though - they'll end up straight in the trash!

Right, I'm off to put the kettle on now...
